Jennifer received her BS degree in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire in 1977. Since joining Riverbend in 1988 she has filled many roles including technician, “fixit person”, and office manager. She is actively involved in the local equestrian community and has Jack Russell terriers that keep her on her toes.
Sara graduated from UVM in 1994 with a BS degree in Animal Science. She joined Riverbend in 1998 after working in a large purebred cattery. Having worked as a certified EMT, she enjoys the challenges of emergency cases and inpatient care. Her hobbies include training, riding, and teaching horses and their owners. Sara and her young Dalmatian, Thriller, are training for and starting to compete in agility and obedience. She enjoys running and currently is training for her first half-marathon.
Bettianne received her Associates degree as a veterinary technician from Becker College. She joined Riverbend in 1998 where her organizational skills and attention to detail are key to making the office function smoothly. Outside of Riverbend, she competes locally and at the National level in canine agility trials with her two Golden Retrievers, Porter and Sully. Her friends "force" her to run in 5K races.
Joanie graduated from Castleton State College with a BS degree in psychology and criminal justice. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1981 and came to Riverbend in 2004. Prior to joining us she also worked in the equine industry, managing a large sporthorse stable. She enjoys working with her horses, skiing, and going to the beach in her spare time.
Margery graduated with a BA in music from The Hartt School of Music. Immediately after graduation, she followed her dream and began working with animals. While in Connecticut she worked at the Connecticut Humane Society and then moved to a veterinary clinic where she started her technical training. She joined the staff at Riverbend in 2006. In her spare time she loves working in the barn with her donkeys and pet chickens. She also participates in road races and sings on occasion with her mother in local events.
Growing up on a dairy farm, Alex developed a close bond and respect for animals as well as an appreciation for a dedicated work ethic. In 2014 she graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS degree in Dairy Science. After working as an undergraduates research assistant and on a large dairy farm in Michigan, Alex joined The Riverbend staff in 2016. Her interests include working on her family's dairy farm and showing cattle.
Jennie joined us at Riverbend Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2017. She will receive her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vermont Technical College in the spring of 2018. She is thrilled to be working with a group of compassionate veterinarians and technicians and is looking forward to learning more about large animal medicine. Jennie currently resides in Fairlee, Vermont with her boyfriend and animals, a 9 year-old German Shepherd and two cats, all three of which were rescued in some capacity. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and spending time with animals and is actively involved with animal rescue, particularly trap/neuter/release programs with feral cat populations and fostering sick and young kittens until they are able to be adopted..
